Job description

Occupational Therapist

Conwy

Most of us grow up with 5 senses and can’t imagine what it’s like to lose any one of those.

For some ex-service people, this is their reality. Suddenly their whole way of life is changed, even walking to the shops becomes a mentally and physically challenging task.

Fortunately, our client is here to help rebuild their lives. But they can’t do it alone.

This is where you come in.

As Occupational Therapist Wellbeing Specialist, you’ll carry out assessments and interventions with our client’s visually impaired ex-service people. You’ll work closely with wellbeing specialists of other disciplines in a multidisciplinary team to identify holistic wellbeing interventions to give the ex-service people both the motivation and ability to live a full, healthy lifestyle and engage in meaningful activities.

You’ll provide specific, targeted interventions with a focus on outcomes such as promoting independence, safety, improved wellbeing and engagement in purposeful activity. You’ll help ex-service people understand how to achieve a life beyond sight loss.

As Occupational Therapist Wellbeing Specialist, you’ll of course focus on this area, and will need a degree or higher qualification in Occupational Therapy, along with a current HCPC registration and experience delivering remote and face-to-face interventions.

Our client offers:

- Salary of £33,436.98 per annum

- Pension scheme with generous employer contributions

- Healthcare cash plan

- Access to legal services and mental health support

- Employee assistance programme

- Paid professional subscriptions and discounts

Our client helps vision-impaired ex-service people of every generation rebuild their lives after sight loss. They help vision-impaired ex-service people lead independent and fulfilling lives by supporting them with in-depth expertise, experience and full range of services.

This position is subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Checks.
