About the role


Within Civil Enforcement, we manage the issuance of Permits and On Street Parking and ANPR enforcement within the county. This role is to work in the evolving permit team where you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Officer in the administration of parking permit related services and responding to enquiries.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Supervising administrators who are processing permits
  • Being the first point of call for assistant officers to provide advice and support
  • Coordinating workflows and allocating resources in response to demand
  • Assisting in training new staff
  • Provide an excellent standard of customer service
  • Provide clerical support that includes recording of banking income, reporting on permit statistics, creating and processing of invoices, auditing of Pay & Display income and purchasing.
  • Provide a telephone service for the collection of payment for parking permits
  • Assist with the issuing of all permit types including discounts and exemptions for Oxfords Zero Emission Zone and School Streets
  • To assist the Civil Enforcement team with the process of logging and dealing with correspondence and representations when required.

About you


As an Officer, you’ll have experience of supervising staff in an administration environment. You will need to be able to liaise with customers, contractors, partners and colleagues in a professional and timely manner. It is vital that you can promote excellent customer service standards and have an aptitude for working collaboratively in problem-solving and making informed, insightful decisions.


Prior knowledge of parking processes and legislation is not required, although you will need to have the ability and willingness to learn.
