Position: Overhead Technician/Linesperson

Location: Nunnery Depot, Sheffield

Hours: 40 hours. Permanent role.

Our in-house maintenance teams work together to safely maintain the Sheffield Supertram network, across 34 Kilometres of Sheffield. You'll carry out OHLE maintenance as part of a team. The role of OHLE technician is primarily one of maintenance, including inspection patrols, repairs and new installations of the overhead line equipment. Additional in this role you will trained in all aspects of Supertram system maintenance through our internal training matrix.

This job will be a shift based rota including days and nights for the duration of the year operating in and out of service hours.

You should be conscientious, reliable and hardworking, making sure you only carry out work for which you're trained and competent. The role of technician is a junior leadership role to provide expertise; and labour as required to carry out the duties associated with system maintenance, leading the working team whilst performing reactive and planned maintenance, diagnosing faults, carrying repairs and capturing the data involved with these actions, whilst providing guidance to Assistant technicians in their roles.

Ideally the candidate would already be working within a similar environment preferably with Highways experience.

Necessary Experience

· Highways, Tramway or railway background

· Overhead line installation or maintenance experience of working in the OHLE environment

· Able to assess, understand and action technical procedures within the department

· Be able to work on their own initiative and as part of the team

· Full Driving Licence
