Job description

What will you be doing?

We are fully embracing the new office ways of working culture, so a mixture of both office (Lichfield) and home working is on offer.

Fixed term contract for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave. 20 hours per week - Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (Wednesday being an office working day)

Our colleagues are the beating heart of our connection to our local communities and collectively form the impact we make. We value the differences every team member brings to their role, delivering a sustainable society for all.

Offering a warm welcome, smooth transition and ongoing development of our colleagues, our management teams are supported by our dedicated People team.

In the role of Onboarding and Development Administrator, you’ll play an integral part in providing specialist support and advice to support the attraction, recruitment, on-boarding and learning journeys of colleagues. As part of an enthusiastic team of specialists, we’re committed to providing a smooth and well-organized Onboarding and learning experience, making sure the customer remains at the centre of everything we do.

Offering a positive first response, you’ll become a trusted partner in providing in-depth knowledge and experience, to support our candidates and colleagues with queries that arise. You’ll be equipped to provide basic reporting to deal with ad hoc enquires or process exceptions and monitoring trends.

In this varied and exciting role, you will support with the administration of more intricate and non-automated parts of our onboarding processes and make sure our learning portal is kept up to date to reflect accurate information for our external learning providers.

How will I know if I am right for this role?

As experts in our recruitment and learning processes, the pace and volume in our modest on-boarding and Development team is significant, so you will need to be a strong team player and be able to demonstrate effective time management and organisational skills.

You’ll remain calm whilst under pressure in handling multiple priorities at the same time. You’ll need to have a good understanding of Office 365 and some knowledge of recruitment, Onboarding and learning requirements to fulfil this role.

It’s important that you can communicate clearly, confidently and be engaging when providing support to our potential candidates and colleagues. You’ll need a keen eye for detail and take care with accuracy as well as demonstrating autonomy due to the confidential and sensitive nature of some of the documents and information you’ll be accessing.

You’ll listen to and act on the feedback from our customers, proactively looking for ways to improve the service we provide and ensure that it is meeting the needs of the business in the most efficient way.

What is in it for me?

In addition to our competitive salaries, our colleagues also benefit from:

  • Fantastic colleague discount- including a discount of up to 20% on our products.
  • Retail discounts- our new hub offers colleagues access to hundreds of exclusive retail discounts, save money on days out and take advantage of holiday discounts.
  • Holiday buy- colleagues can buy up to a week extra of annual leave each year to enjoy the things that matter to them outside of work.
  • Colleague recognition- we make sure we celebrate our colleague’s achievements both personally and professionally.
  • Enhanced family friendly policies- we want to help you feel fully supported during any significant life events.
  • Share of the profits- We pay a share of our profits to eligible colleagues as a thank you for their contribution to our success.
  • Paid time for volunteering-we encourage our colleagues to spend three days per year taking part in volunteering, fully paid for by us.
  • Give as you earn- as a caring society, we want to help you support charities which mean something to you.
  • Healthcare Cashplan- your wellbeing is important, so you are able contribute to a voluntary plan that helps pay towards a range of healthcare expenses.
  • Company Pension- Colleagues can access a company pension scheme with us and receive an employer contribution when they too contribute. We also offer Pension wellbeing information to help you plan for retirement.
  • Life Assurance- You’ll get free life assurance cover, that pays your nominated beneficiary if you die while you’re working for us.
  • Personalised learning and Development- with easy access to a wide range of training programmes

We are the difference makers and understand flexibility makes a difference- we understand a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work for colleagues when it comes to flexibility and balancing work with home life.

We have introduced new ways of working to support our colleagues wellbeing and embrace ways of working that work for everyone.

Who are we?

As a progressive Co-operative Society, we want the people in our communities to thrive, not just survive, for generations to come. Our people are the energy behind this positive change. We’re looking for like-minded people who want to support our communities and know the needs of the people who live in them, to help us reach our goal of creating a sustainable society for all.
