Oncology Specialist Dietitian | Aneurin Bevan University Health Board

Are you a Dietitian keen tospecialise in the rewarding clinical speciality of Oncology? We are seeking a dietitianwith some post registration experience to join us, based in the Royal Gwent Hospital, and providing in-reach to inpatient care in the Grange University Hospital. This post is advertised as a band 6 with the opportunity to utilise annexe 21 to provide a development opportunity as required. It would therefore suit Dietitians early in their career ready to specialise but requiring some support and development opportunities to step into the additional duties of a band 6 post holder. Learning opportunities to attain band 6 will be supported and include an advanced clinical educators module at postgraduate diploma level and BDA study days in oncology and enteral / parenteral nutrition.
This post will afford the opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team alongside specialist nurses, surgeons, oncologists and other therapists. Working in both the inpatient and outpatient ABUHB settings, with the clinical guidance of our lead dietitians, you will provide the dietetic care to patients accessing treatment for a range of cancer diagnoses including upper and lower GI and Head and Neck Cancer.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues based in the Velindre Cancer Centre and those working for leading cancer charities. There will be opportunity to apply for Macmillan adoption and to access cross therapy training opportunities implemented by our AHP lead for Oncology, to support your development. Some existing experience in this clinical area or managing the care of patients receiving enteral tube feeding would be an advantage.
The post holder should have already attained a sound knowledge and understanding of general dietetics within the NHS.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
