We are looking for a highly motivated individual, to join our team as a Recovery and Opportunities Coordinator at our accommodation service, Stacey Street, based in Islington.
Your mission is to work alongside staff to empower residents with the tool they need to lead fulfilling lives.
About the role:
Our Opportunities programme provides positive experiences for people that benefits their health and well-being, personal growth and development and social connectedness. The programme takes a largely co-produced and group-based approach using physical activity, art, music, gardening to help build confidence, social skills and self-awareness. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your experience of running and developing groups. If this sounds like you, then please apply.
About the Stacey Street Project - Our project was established in the summer of 2022 and was set up to pioneer new approaches to working with individuals who have experienced homelessness. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the service alongside an experienced and committed team, working within an engaging environment in a newly refurnished building. We run regular groups and activities, have an on-site psychologist, and facilitate in-reach visits on site from health services to promote client wellbeing. The service provides staff with the opportunity to be involved in running groups and activities, to develop professionally through frequent training, and the opportunity to learn about system change within the sector.
About you:
- Demonstrable experience of working with people with support needs
- Demonstrable expertise and skills in empowering individuals in their own recovery including the use of appropriate theories and approaches.
- Experience of developing, facilitating and coordinating groups and activities for clients to take part in, with a demonstrable understanding of group dynamics.
- Ability to support staff, clients and volunteers in developing and running groups
- Experience of developing and maintaining positive partnership relationships with a range of internal and external providers and services.
- A demonstrable ability to engage and motivate people, with an awareness of the issues that may prevent engagement, impact and self -motivation.
- A level of literacy to produce quality written work, providing reports and documentation and the ability to use common IT packages.
