Online Retail Assistant (Part Time, Mornings)

THE ROLE

• Pheasants Hill Farm Ltd is an online seller of free-range meat products in the UK and Ireland market.
• We are seeking to recruit a Part time morning team member to work on Monday morning, Tuesday morning and Friday mornings.
• The job holder will be responsible for correctly picking and securely packing our customers orders in our on-farm premises outside Killyleagh, County Down. Our loyal customers love our meat, but they hate mistakes in their orders so we are looking for a new team member who is very accurate and details focussed - who loves to get things right.
• You will also be trained to use our online e-commerce software to administer customer orders as they are placed.
• You will work with our production team to plan our production and will be responsible for flagging low stock items
• You will also check that our stocks of specialised packaging are maintained and reordered when needed.
• You will book the courier service for our customers and track their deliveries
• You will fulfil orders using the ecommerce software to complete the order.
• Full on the job training will be given so no previous experience of e-commerce software is required, although computer literacy is required.
• We pack our orders in boxes of up to 15kg so you need to be a normally fit person who is able to carry customer order boxes and lift boxes of stock on and off shelves - the job is active and great for a daily workout.
• For this position the job holder will work on Monday morning, Tuesday morning and Friday morning from 9.30am to 1.30pm. The shift is 4 hours in the morning - this is when we pack our orders which are then collected by our daily courier to send to our customers in Ireland and the UK.

PAY

£12.10 Per hour for staff over 21 (£8.60 per hour 18-20 years, £6.40 per hour for 16-17 years) – a great rate of pay above the National Living Wage

JOB TYPE

• Part time
• Fixed term contract for maternity cover from 1st May to 31st December 2024
• The status of this position will be reviewed in December 2024
• We anticipate the post may become permanent in the future.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

• 4 hours per shift
• Job shifts are Monday 9.30 to 1.30 pm, Tuesday 9.30 am to 1.30 pm, and Friday 9.30 am to 1.30 pm
• Total hours 12 hours per week.
• During school holidays shifts can be worked from 5pm to 9 pm to accommodate child care requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assembling orders accurately from a picking note
• Dealing with customers' specific customised order requests
• Packing online orders in a secure manner for courier shipping
• Picking orders from frozen storage
• Replenishing stock and putting away into frozen and refrigerated storage
• Organising and moving stock in frozen storage for consolidation and space creation
• Packing and labelling products using a vacuum packer and a labelling machine
• Handling new orders as they are placed on our online websites
• Booking the courier for the orders as they are placed
• Fulfilling the order on the software when it is completed
• Emailing tracking information to customers
• Keeping track of stock inventory and alerting the production staff when stock is running low
• Keeping track of packaging inventory and alerting management team to reorder as needed
• The role is physically active and requires manual handling
• The role will include lifting order boxes and crates of stock (up to 15kg)

THE CANDIDATE

• Will have a level of fitness capability for the regular lifting of 15kg boxes on and off shelving
• Will be friendly, polite, approachable and enjoy working as part of a small team
• Will be computer literate, efficient and accurate with data entry
• Will be comfortable using an online order system and online stock inventory system
• Will be capable of working individually, unsupervised whilst maintaining work rate
• Will be reliable, self-motivated and punctual
• Will manage their time well and be able to work efficiently whilst maintaining accuracy
• Should be open to working on a multitude of despatch tasks whilst maintaining accuracy
• Full training will be provided to the successful applicant

EXPERIENCE

• We are looking for a team member who is extremely accurate and details focussed. We are sending expensive meat orders to customers in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain, who rightly expect to receive exactly the products they have ordered. All our staff members must understand how important it is to pick and pack exactly what the customer has ordered, and to pack it in an intelligent way so that the meat order arrives in great condition.
• The job suits someone who has worked in a job which requires 100% accuracy and who prides themselves in not making mistakes.
• A safe food handling certificate would be an advantage, but full safe food handling training will be given on the job
