Role overview 

This role sits within our data processing & scripting team, who work closely with operations and research colleagues from across the UK business, managing online, offline and mixed-mode surveys. We service a diverse range of projects & topics, meaning no one day is the same and the work can be varied and challenging, presenting plenty opportunity for growth and development.

As a Senior Online Scripter your role will be to programme and manage complex online surveys to a high standard. You’ll also be expected to help and support other members of the team.

What will I be doing? 

  • Setting up complex online surveys (for e.g. surveys with multiple methodologies and sample sources, long running trackers, multi-survey programmes, etc.), including set up of efficient adjacent processes
  • Customising online survey layouts using modern web standards and technologies (e.g. HTML5, jQuery, JS & CSS frameworks).
  • Project managing all aspects of an online scripting job from quoting to setup meetings through to final data delivery and project assessment
  • Collaborating on the scripting team’s development items
  • Providing project guidance, support and coaching to other members of the team.
  • Abiding by strict quality and data-protection policies

Ipsos UK offers a hybrid working environment, 3 days in the office and working the rest from home. 

What do I need to bring with me? 

  • Online/Web scripting experience in market research is essential
  • Strong background with IBM/Dimensions/Unicom SPSS Data Collection
  • Thorough understanding of web technologies (DOM, CSS, HTML, jQuery)
  • SQL experience (preferably with IBM Data collection but also beneficial if used with other languages like Python, .NET, C# or similar)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Git, Github and Node.js would be an advantage
  • The right mindset is critical: You should be engaged, innovative, and naturally curious, with a thirst to grow and develop yourself and the business around you.
  • Ownership of survey scripting & development requirements, demonstrating autonomy and self-drive.
  • A can-do, proactive attitude to solving difficult problems, independently and as part of a fast-moving team.
  • Track record of delivering robust and error-tolerant surveys, to a high quality for clients, at all times.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Excellent project & time management skills, including experience with budgets and job costs.
