Job Summary

Cazoo is seeking an exceptional Digital Purchasing Specialist to join its team and lead the transformation of the Online Used Car buying experience. This position is pivotal to Cazoo's mission of applying a data-driven and online approach to car acquisitions for optimal efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Online Vehicle Procurement: The role involves procuring vehicles for Cazoo through various online platforms, utilising digital tools and data analytics.
• Digital Vendor and Auction House Relationships: Maintaining and building online relationships with vendors and online auction platforms to facilitate smooth transactions in the digital space.
• Data-Driven Online Buying: Collaborating with other team members to maximise data utilisation and aligning online auction sales with data insights and online strategies.
• Collaboration: Working closely with the senior purchasing manager, other online Car Buyers, and data analysts to optimise volume, quality, margin, and stock turnover in the online marketplace.
• Ensuring that purchased vehicles meet Cazoo's strict online specifications, resulting in low return percentages and aligned online refurbishment costs.
• Identifying online opportunities for improvement in the digital purchasing model and approach.
• Demonstrating a professional, respectful, inclusive, and collaborative approach as a key member of the digital buying team.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Online Data Skills: Proficiency in using digital tools, such as Google Sheets, Excel, Looker, and online platforms for data analysis, reporting, and online negotiations.
• Automotive Knowledge: While previous automotive experience is not essential, knowledge of car specifications and online vehicle preparation would be beneficial.
• Online Negotiation Skills: The ability to negotiate using data and current market conditions in the online space to secure favourable online deals.
• Team Player: Strong teamwork and communication skills, both written and online communication.
• Adaptable to the Digital Space: Comfortable working at a fast pace and meeting multiple online deadlines.
• Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational skills for online operations, the ability to handle ambiguity in the digital landscape, and effective time management.
• A proactive "starter-finisher" with a willingness to show initiative in the online environment.
• Attention to Detail: A thorough and methodical approach with great attention to detail in online transactions.
• The ability to recognise online opportunities and present solutions.
