This position is a challenging and rewarding one within a dynamic and continually improving manufacturing environment. As an Operational IT Systems Engineer you will join a team responsible for the correct, compliant operation of all business managed IT equipment within Industry across a diverse range of products.
As an Operational IT Systems Engineer you will also have a key role with New Product Introduction (NPI) ensuring that security standards are implemented at the concept phase of new product development.
You will also ensure existing test equipment is supported in order to keep downtime to a minimum and ensure manufacturing targets are met.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be based full time at the Glasgow site. However on occasion some external travel will be required to support vendor and or other Thales UK sites.
Accordingly a full UK Driver’s License would be an advantage.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the Manufacturing, Security, and Information Systems (IS) functions to ensure users can work with efficiency and agility
- Support Manufacturing with continuous improvement initiatives
- Support “Industry 4.0” activities within Manufacturing
- Support users to keep their devices secure and compliant
- Keep equipment downtime to a minimum
- Manage and support non IS managed IT systems
Desired skills, qualifications and experience
- Knowledge of administrating Microsoft Networks (Client\Server\ADS)
- Skilled at documenting technical working environments
- Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Subversion and Git
- Knowledge of workflow tools such as Service Now
- Knowledge of ITIL\ISO 27001 network security best practices
- Knowledge of PC\Server hardware troubleshooting and maintenance
