Operational Resilience Manager

Location: Manchester Desirable (Scope for: Reading, Cardiff, London)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operational Resilience Manager to lead and support crucial aspects of our Operational Resilience Framework.

They can provide financial services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), homeowners, landlords, as well as individuals. The Operational Resilience Managerwill oversee and enhance the Operational Resilience Framework within the bank. The role involves collaborating with different stakeholders to shape, report, and evaluate Operational Resilience pillars, engaging with senior leaders to map critical business services, developing impact tolerances, managing incidents, conducting post-incident reviews, and ensuring business continuity plans are robust. Additionally, as an Operational Resilience Manager you will be analysing threats, monitoring risks, and staying updated on regulatory requirements. It requires strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Operational Resilience Managerresponsibilities

  • Collaborate with pillar owners to shape, report, and evaluate Operational Resilience pillars. (e.g Cyber, Data, Facilities, People, Suppliers)
  • Engage with senior leaders to map critical business services and facilitate reporting to top committees.
  • Develop impact tolerances for business services and coordinate metric identification.
  • Assist in creating disruptive scenarios, facilitating scenario exercises, and managing incidents to resolution.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to enhance best practices and processes.
  • Maintain business continuity documentation and analyse continuity requirements for recovery strategies.
  • Monitor threats, analyse risks, and assess third-party supplier capabilities.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and support regulatory interactions related to Operational Resilience.
  • Maintain awareness of the Group’s important business services and Operational Resilience pillars.
  • Uphold Conduct Risk principles with a customer-centric approach.

Ideal Candidate for the Operational Resilience Manager

  • Working knowledge of standards and regulations such as ISO22301, FCA/PRA/BoE publications.
  • Proven experience in Business Continuity, Incident Management, or operational risk management.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a knack for conflict resolution and change management.
  • Ability to work autonomously, maintain accuracy, and manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
  • Management experience in relevant operational areas.
  • Proven engagement with matrix management structures.
