A career in our Operational Restructuring practice, within Deals Business Recovery Services, will provide you with the opportunity to support our clients survive an imminent crisis or simply fix gaps in their organisation. In joining, you'll help clients, among other things, reduce balance sheet stress, generate cash and reduce costs or refinance to find the best source of capital to support their business objectives. Whatever the solution, we help them manage road blocks until the job is done. Our team provides organisations with pragmatic solutions for Operational Restructuring and resource management for a swift recovery and sustained future success. You'll work on performing short term cash flow reviews, advising on capital management, and assisting with stakeholder negotiations and restructuring methodologies.
You will be a Senior Manager within our entrepreneurial and exciting Operational Restructuring practice with accountability for client growth and account delivery. You will work on a variety of assignments supporting clients to improve the performance of their operations.
You will be expected to work flexibly across our practice but will focus predominantly on our cost and value engineering (C&VE) growth pillar, working with clients to optimise the internal & external costs involved in products and operations (including manufacturing and supply chain)
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Effective client account management ensuring project profitability and delivery while actively managing and inspiring change with key client stakeholders including C-suite
• Leading projects across multiple geographies, business lines and functions
• Taking the lead for building and managing high performing project teams with a focus on capability development
• Business development and revenue generation
• Generating ideas and using frameworks/ methodologies to solve problems and delivering insightful, fact-based findings and recommendations
You will leverage your broad knowledge of materials, product design and manufacturing processes to:
• Work alongside clients managing change control and helping them to navigate costs of complex engineering/industrial processes to achieve cost savings through redesign
• Support clients in creating true visibility of their profitability dependent on the client challenge; analysing profitability factors including costs, margins, and break-even points by component, product, SKU and location as required
• Provide clients with evidence-based recommendations on improvements and support with practical implementation, including supporting workshops and supplier negotiations
You will also be expected to actively contribute to the development of our team by:
• Leading marketing and business development activities from delivery of internal training and upskilling, to developing propositions and proposals, including leveraging and maintaining your industry network to support business growth and continuously develop our position in the market
• Responsible for the wider up-skilling of the PwC C&VE team (awareness and education)
• Proactively facilitating and promoting a diverse and inclusive team working environment
Essential skills and experience includes:
• Extensive Cost Engineering experience gained from either a consulting or corporate environment with exposure across one or more industry sectors. Proven value creation by using cost models to drive cost reduction through supplier negotiations and/or operational improvements.
• Previous experience in leading cost-based transformation programmes in procurement/ supply chain
• Proven track record of supporting business development and revenue growth
• Experience of building and leading high performing teams and promoting an inclusive team culture
• A strong industry network
• Budget and fiscal management skills
• Experience of strategy and proposition development
• Direct to Customer/DfX experience across a range of products and sectors
• Experience supporting clients deliver programmes using Value analysis & Value Engineering methodologies
• Management accounting capability preferred
