This role is for an Operational Engineering Support Engineer that will work alongside production operators in the packing area, as technical support.
You will be the first point of contact (ahead of the shift engineers) for any issues in the packing area.
Your main duties will be size changes, machine setting and minor breakdowns.
Any more intrusive or labour-intensive breakdowns will be handed on to the shift engineers.

A major part of this role is to help upskill our production operators and give them more ownership of their plant.
As part of this role, you should be engaging with the production operators and take them through the fault finding and fault resolution process of machine setting/minor breakdowns.
They will also be expected to assist production during size changes in order to improve the standard of the size change and potentially reduce the time taken to complete them.

You will be assigned to one of the four shift teams and liaise with the production shift manager and engineering team leader.
As part of the role, you will need to attend team handovers & other internal meetings.

In this you will be proactive as well as reactive, if your area is running well there is the potential to pick up PPM's and project work to improve the performance of the equipment in the packing area.
