Operational Support Manager | Bolton Nhs Foundation Trust

This role is to support the Operational Business Manager and Deputy Operational Business Manager in the operational delivery and performance management of the services and specialities within the business unit on national and local performance targets and objectives and the development and improvement of its clinical and administrative processes.
The successful candidate will support the Operational Business Manager and Deputy Operational Business Managers in the day-to-day operations of the departments to enable the clinical specialties within their portfolio to meet the agreed aims and objectives within an efficient, effective and safe working environment. They will support the delivery of key national and local targets, support with the recovery plans within the specialties of Diabetes & Endocrine, and improve service delivery along with patient experience.
The post holder will be responsible for line management of the administration and secretarial teams in their portfolio, ensuring that a high quality administration service is provided to clinicians, patients and Trust colleagues. The post holder will work closely with the Deputy Operational Business Manager to ensure that day to day clinical activity runs as effectively and efficiently as possible.
The Operational Support Manager will manage day to day capacity and demand issues and will liaise directly with the Deputy Operational Managers in planning activity to ensure delivery of performance targets.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 320,000 people.
The main duties of the job include specific responsibility and accountability for certain aspects of performance, including but not exhaustively Diabetes & Endocrinology and RTT targets. This post also directly line manages a team of secretaries and relevant support staff within the business unit.
