We are delighted to be assisting an owner managed business based in North Cumbria , our client specialise in hiring out market leading construction equipment. Due to their continued growth, they are now seeking to appoint an operations Director. Working closely with the managing director overseeing and developing the business over the coming years.
Our client has won some major contracts over the years, renting equipment on large projects such as various sections of HS2, Hinckley Point, the A14 upgrade etc, and working in numerous challenging environments such as Quarries, mines, recycling, rail heads and ports. They have built an enviable reputation in their field.
The role will involve overseeing operations and leading the business-critical functions, these include, service , Finance, H&S operations & possibly sales. You will have experience of assessing a department for its strengths and its weaknesses and then adding structure, process, and procedure to it ensure it runs effectively and efficiently.
In joining this business, you will need impeccable standards, exceptional work ethic, attention to detail and a proven ability for excellent man management.
In addition, the operational aspects of the role will cover supplier management, procurement, working under tight service levels, monitoring regulatory change, etc.. It will also require you to take a strategic approach, whilst demonstrating an entrepreneurial flair.
The role will largely be based at their head office in North Cumbria, with occasional visits to other sites around the UK as the need arises.
Sector experience in equipment rental, plant hire or knowledge of the construction sector is desirable but not essential.
