The position

We are currently seeking for a Operations Engineer to join BW Offshore Asset Operations team to support our asset in Gabon. This role will be based in the Aberdeen office, some travel to Gabon will be required.

You are responsible for

  • Serve as focal point in the identification and creation of service purchase requests within IFS and liaise with Procurement and Logistics (both local and head office) in the scheduling, procurement and delivery of spares, materials and equipment as needed. Schedule and monitor progress of the procurement and logistics cycle to ensure availability as per the operational requirements.
  • Support the TMM in the preparation of maintenance schedules for campaigns and projects such as planned maintenance shutdown, diving inspections etc. and communication of these schedules to all parties.
  • Direct and coordinate all relevant local requisitions for spares, consumables and services for repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Identify Maintenance backlog (overdue work orders from CMMS / IFS). In consultation with TMM and offshore management, evaluate and finalize scope. Develop or manage development of required work packs for the planned Maintenance tasks where needed. Monitor IFS dashboard on daily basis, ensure that SCPM and RA get the attention it needs.
  • Visit the Unit on a regular basis as required. It is expected that the Operations Engineer visits the unit at least once in a three-month period for monitoring the performance and planning of maintenance activities.
  • Support the OIM in the management and levelling of offshore personnel (core crew and visitors) within the allowable POB for the Asset.
  • Coordinate Operational/ Asset objectives from the planning, scheduling and progress reporting standpoint and serve as focal point in the preparation, maintenance, progressing and reporting of the Asset Integrated Schedules covering 14D, 90D and 18M operational/ maintenance plan.
  • Support TMM in Client related meetings and reporting/ preparations thereof as required.
  • This position shall support the activities of Technical and Maintenance Manager (TMM) particularly during extraordinary modifications and activities. The position should act as a stand-in for the senior Operations Engineer and/or TMM when required.
  • Continuous improvement of maintenance strategy in co-operation with senior ops engineer, TMM & AM in order to achieve a safe & efficient operation.

Education and experience

  • Technical diploma from an accredited institution
  • 5 Years of relevant experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Offshore experience is highly advantageous
  • FPSO experience is highly advantageous
  • Be familiar with Shutdown and Offshore operations
  • Excellent computer skills; IFS 10, MS-Excel and MS-Word
