Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Plant Manager you will:
* Manage all operational aspects of plant, including all people management responsibilities of the Operations team.
* Meet agreed organisational performance plans, within agreed budgets and timescales.
* Monitor plant, process and labour productivity, implementing improvements where necessary.
* Propose plant and process developments.
* Available to be called in out-of-hours during on-site emergencies, such as managing breakdowns.
* Assist the Plant Manager in developing operational and maintenance budgets and strategies.
* Ensure all activities are carried out in line with health, safety and environmental rules and recommendations, and with consideration for all employees and customers on site.
* Ensure compliance with the Environmental permit and Environmental Legislation at site.
* As a Senior Authorised Person, be responsible for the Safety Rules and their implementation.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Degree or HND qualified in a relevant field, i.e. Process Engineering / Mechanical Engineering etc.
* Experience managing a large, multi-discipline team within a heavy industrial, process environment, including steam raising plant.
* Extensive understanding of the Energy from Waste process.
* Strong Health and Safety knowledge, including up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
* Experience managing the training of staff and competency matrixes.
* Experience managing budgets, with full responsibility for your area.
