Operations Manager - Leisure Centre

I am currently looking for an operation to join a multiple award-winning leisure operator at their centre near Chelmsford. The Leisure Centre is about to benefit from a significant refurbishment of the gym with the new kit from Life Fitness expected to make a very positive impact to driving new members. As Operations Manager you will be hands on in ensuring the highest levels of health and safety, cleanliness and standards across the centre where you will be supported by a team of 3 duty managers. With a large learn to swim programme you will need to be lifeguard qualified or be able to pass this qualification, You will be the number 2 to the GM within the centre and will be supported with training and development to further your career either within the contract or the wider business. Key responsibilities include:

• Work four open or close duty management shifts throughout the week with one admin shift.
• Responsible for health and safety and conducting risk assessments throughout the centre.
• To ensure quality standards are always met through the adherence to the quality management programme.
• To have overall responsibility for building maintenance and repairs within the facility
• Responsible for recruiting talent against the company values and training and developing skills.
• Ensure ongoing training is delivered and recorded including NPLQ and FAAW
• Responsible for operational budgets including labour, income and expenditure.

We are looking for candidates who have experience working as a duty manager across the broad leisure or hospitality sector who are looking to take on additional responsibility as the Operations Manager within the business. If coming from outside the fitness industry you will need to have a genuine and passion for fitness and be engaged in a healthy lifestyle.

You will be working a combination of shifts starting at 5.45am for an early shift and finishing at 10.15 for a late shift during the week from Monday to Friday witha later start of 7am and earlier finish of 5pm at the weekends, . You will need to be able to drive to and from work for this oppportunity
