Are you excited by the opportunity to lead a team of operatives and charge hands in a fast paced, operational environment? Do you want to work for one of the UKs leading Port Operators? We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our team in Greenock and help keep the world moving!
Your Role
As Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day to day operation within the Port of Greenock Terminal. To supervise and co-ordinate the provision of a safe and cost effective operation. You will work closely with operations management and supervisory team to ensure operational and customer targets are achieved.
Ensure that operational delivery and support requirements are achieved throughout the Terminal, reviewing shipping schedules, labour planning and berthing plans. You’ll be expected to produce daily reports for the Business Unit Manager and promote effective communication.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and in accordance with Safety 365.
What you'll bring
You’ll have experience within the port industry, specifically container terminal operations and working in high risk environments. A degree of knowledge in using operating systems would be beneficial. You will have experience in delivering improved productivity and the ability to communicate new ways of working. Proven individual and team management, leadership and change management skills is essential for success in the role.
You’ll need to be an excellent team player with the ability to lead, influence and develop your team, with a flexible approach to working patterns – which could change based on operational requirements. A working knowledge of health, safety, environmental, engineering, quality and ISPS legislation, standards, policies and procedures. A full valid driving licence is essential for this role.
