Operations Support Manager (Technical) - UOD1121

We are recruiting an Operations Support Manager (Technical) within our Operations Team. This post offers the opportunity to play a leading role in the continued growth and development of the Operations Team, based within the School of Medicine in the Ninewells Hospital Dundee, one of Europe’s largest teaching hospitals. The School of Medicine provides outstanding medical education and training supported by world class research facilities. The Operations Team plays a key role on the wider Ninewells Campus delivering on numerous projects across the campus, supporting 5 of the Universities Schools, along with working with many internal and external stakeholders providing a unique translational link between research and teaching activities. Your Priorities will include: Support all activities both research and teaching projects and the provision and delivery of high-quality operational management and support across the Medical School, working within designated areas. Implement the highest standards of service to all staff within the school. Identify ways to improve service to meet day to day changing demands in a complex research and teaching environment with a focus on technical support. Co-lead a team of technicians delivering teaching and research activities with a wide variety of skills sets, bringing them collectively together to deliver projects on time and within scope. Who we’re looking for: Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in the fields of information technology and or bio engineering. Electronic Design background and an extensive knowledge of both professional and technical practices including software, firmware and hardware development tools, CAD software, and interfacing and simulation packages. Knowledge of Cyber and or IT Technical Security. Appreciation and understand data protection, confidentiality, equality, and diversity legislation. Ability to work autonomously and clearly communicate complex, specialist information both orally and in writing. In-depth IT knowledge of a diverse and extensive range of instrumentation and equipment installed across campus. Experience of acting as a principal point of contact for queries regarding operational management, staff, HR, Finance Experience in all operation management within higher education environment Have, or be willing to gain experience of working within a research laboratory and demonstration of the support required to manage and service research activity and student practical activity in a highly efficient manner.
