Introduction:

An opportunity has become available to join Boeing Defence UK as an Operations Support Specialist (Document Controller).

This position is part of the on-site C-17 Field Services Team supporting the Royal Air Force customer at RAF Brize Norton. The Boeing Team of 90 plus employees work directly for, and with 99 Squadron, providing real-time, time-critical and dynamic assistance at the point of delivery. This is a team at the forefront, and we are offering an opportunity for you to join that team.


The Operations Support Specialist (Document Controller) is responsible for providing support to the C-17 Maintenance Teams. In their role, they will be providing direct control and supervision of all aircraft documentation for aircraft undergoing scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, repairs and modification work.  They will ensure all technical data in use is at the correct revision and will compile and audit task cards. They will work with both electronic and hard-copy records.


Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Maintenance teams within their documentation responsibilities.
  • Providing direct control and supervision of all maintenance records and associated paperwork in accordance with all applicable Unit, C-17 Delivery Team or CAMO directives and maintaining compliance with local MRP-145 procedures as derived from RA 4810 - Technical Information. 
  • Compiling, preparing and printing of task cards and work packs.
  • Auditing, updating and delivery of the electronic and hard copy records for assigned aircraft as stipulated in the Statement of Work.
  • Assisting with the compiling of reports for customer meetings.
  • Archiving maintenance work packs in both paper and electronic formats. 
  • Forward all aircraft documentation to the Boeing Logistics Maintenance Team to ensure all maintenance activities are recorded into GO81.
  • Maintain liaison with the 99 Sqn Docs Control SNCO, and Eng Records and Standards Flight when required to resolve paperwork issues.
  • Acting as a point of contact for Boeing Field Service Reps and Eng Records for any documentation queries.
  • Ensuring the latest Approved Data and Technical Information are being used by the maintenance teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Technical Records management or Documents Control in a CAMO or Maintenance Repair Organisation.
  • Military or Civil Aircraft Maintenance experience.
  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training programme.
  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Office with the ability to compile and present reports of a technical nature.
  • A good communicator, with a demonstrable ability to convey technical information.
  • Capable and experienced in sequencing and controlling demanding workloads, on time and to the required standard.
  • Capable of understanding and interpreting Technical data.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding/knowledge of leadership skills/styles and the ability to apply them in effective management.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience of Form 700 series (RAF) would be extremely beneficial.

Work Authorisation: This position does not have sponsorship approval. This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance for which the Government requires UK Citizenship.

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
