Role Summary

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated band 3 Ophthalmic Technicians to join our busy outpatient department.

The successful applicantwill primarily carry out specialized ophthalmic testingforpatients witha variety of ophthalmic conditions, under the direction of a registered Nurse.

The post holder will be required to adhere to Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's values, policies and procedures and work as part of the multidisciplinary team.

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Ophthalmic technician to join our busy Ophthalmology team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The West of England Eye Unit (WEEU) at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has an outstanding reputation as aninnovativeandforward thinkingteam.The service has 16Ophthalmologists and a large multi-disciplinary team of Optometrists, Orthoptists, ODPs, Nurse Practitioners and Ophthalmic Nurses.

The post holder should be an enthusiastic and committed professional with the passion and drive to provide the highest quality ophthalmic care to their patients. You will work very closely with the medical team and all health care professionals and this is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is dynamic, friendly and who strives to provide an excellent standard of care.

The post involves working primarily in ophthalmic outpatients, but you will need to be flexible and may need to rotate within the department and community when needed.

Working Pattern:Monday to Friday 8am -6pm Some late finishes required

This is a fixed term contract for 9months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.

Preference will be given to staff with Priority and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon.
