SYK Recruitment are working with an established Private hospital in the Gateshead area who are looking to recruit a Clinical Optometrist to join their team. The hospital is a modern, purpose-built and well-equipped private healthcare facility. The role is required 3 days a week 9-5, flexible on days

Clinical Optometrist Roles and Responsibilities

• Assess and counsel patients for cataract surgery, including discussing expected outcomes
• Ensure patients understand risks and benefits of surgery with a considerate manner reflecting the patients' needs
• Providing reassurance from the start to the end of the patient journey
• Ensuring post-operative management is undertaken with the support of medical staff
• Undertake YAG laser with training

Clinical Optometrist Requirements

• A GOC registered Optometrist with at least 12 months post-registration experience
• Motivated to develop with a keen interest in the clinical side of optometry
• Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of clinical governance and ability to provide the highest quality of care to all patients
