Optometrist

An independently owned clinic located on Harley Street, dedicated to providing the best, personalised healthcare with a breadth of surgical and medical expertise in eyes is looking for an accomplished Optometrist. The Optometrist role is dual, and it involves working with patients as well as supporting clinical studies alongside a renowned Professor and the clinical research team.

The optometrist's salary is between £50.000 and £55,000, depending on experience.

The Optometrist role requirements:
-An optometry degree and the ability to conduct literature searches and download scientific papers.
-Flexibility and ability to work in emergencies and displaying a pro-active approach

Optometrist duties:

· Screening and scanning retina patients pre and post-operatively (study and general)
· Pre-examine patients attending initial consultations and follow-ups, collating relevant data
· Assisting the retina nurse and research assistant (e.g. dilating patients and scanning)
· Assisting with research papers, presentations etc
· Liaising with the PI and Clinical Trials Coordinators regarding all studies and assisting with the coordination and organisation of these trials.
· Contacting patients to schedule appointments and follow-ups if required.
· Dealing with administrative duties including the producing of clinical letters and reports following consultations; ensuring these are done to a very high standard of English with correct grammar, all relevant information is included, and personally ensuring that the patient coordinators have received these to sent to patients.

Monday to Friday 0900 to 1800.
