Advert

We’re looking for an experienced learning and development professional to join our Organisational Development team at an exciting time as we set out our plans to deliver the priorities of our People Strategy ‘Our People, Our Future’. We are an ambitious Council with a sense of pride in how we support and deliver services to our community, partners and colleagues, and the OD team are instrumental in enabling our workforce to achieve this.

This role is integral to the delivery of our People Strategy 2021-2026 aims and objectives, supporting our workforce responding to and recovering from COVID-19. You will channel all your talent to help us deliver on three strategic outcomes. We will optimise our systems, data and policies to deliver collaborative, innovative and flexible services. Our continued learning as an organisation will add value and improve our current and future skillset through relevant, engaging and accessible development opportunities for our workforce. We will also embed our values into everything we do, enabling a fair, helpful and healthy culture which is evident through our behaviours and interactions.

Within this, our immediate priorities for the year ahead will see us focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce and exploring new ways of fostering a culture that empowers a well-informed and engaged workforce. We will also continue to drive and support the transition towards new ways of working, including how we use new equipment, technology and work together to deliver our services.

To succeed in this role, you will require to have a degree or postgraduate/masters in HR/OD or equivalent and have experience of supporting organisational objectives through the development of creative solutions that engage the workforce and enable them to develop their skills. You will have a background in developing, delivering, and evaluating learning and development programmes, including leadership and management development. You will also have a coaching/mentoring qualification or a willingness to work towards this.

In return, we are committed to providing opportunities and training to support your own continuous personal development and career aspirations.

This role will combine interim home working arrangements with an office base in Renfrewshire House, Paisley.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Gillian O’Neill, Senior OD Adviser, by emailing gillian.oneill@renfrewshire.gov.uk
