Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a skilled individual with a passion for learning and Organisational Development to work as a Training Partner to support a number of the Council’s key services with their training and development needs. In addition, you will work in collaboration with our Democratic Services team to ensure our Members receive appropriate training and development.

What you will do

  • Work in partnership with senior managers to establish training needs for their services.
  • Provide professional advice to ensure the right solutions are being provided to the right people in the right way.
  • Support the development and delivery of training priorities through an agreed plan in line with the corporate training budget.
  • Ensure the training has met the learning needs.
  • Look at ways to improve our processes and solutions where required.

You will also have the opportunity to take a lead role in developing a new digital and ICT skills learning programme, as well as continually developing and delivering our newly introduced induction programme; ‘Your Welcome’.

You will proactively and continually look for ways to enable our service to have ‘Moments of Brilliance’ and strive to provide an excellent service to all of our customers at all times.

Who we are looking for

You will be an experienced Workforce Training / learning and development / Organisational Development professional who can lead the development and delivery of operational Workforce Training and also be involved in wider team organisation development initiatives and strategic projects.

You will work with key stakeholders across a range of services, both internal and external, to collaboratively understand training needs and deliver effective Workforce Training / Organisational Development solutions.

You will have experience of training needs analysis with an awareness of legislation, formulating training plans, working within budgets, producing quality data, working in partnership with teams/services.

You will offer professional advice on different types of learning interventions, look for opportunities to develop process and solutions, as well as look for innovative ways to bring alternative methods of delivery and continuously improve our service and solutions.

You will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to line manage and coach staff and enjoy building strong working relationships both within the team and the services you support.

Our team works across all council services ensuring the Council has a skilled and competent workforce.
