Centrica Energy Storage+ (CES+) is a key Business Unit within the Centrica group and operates large scale natural gas storage and production facilities in East Yorkshire, across its sites at Easington and an offshore platform in the North Sea. CES+ has energy transition ambitions, looking to create an integrated energy hub, not only to meet our own net zero ambition, but to provide infrastructure which supports UK energy security and regulatory energy transition commitments. In this role you will be managing the Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity program and strategy across all CES+’s operated assets to improve our OT cybersecurity posture and to align CES +’s OT cybersecurity risk management to the wider business risk management framework.

Location – Position will require working from multiple locations; Office in Hessle, Hull, Home Working and working at both operational assets (Onshore and Offshore)

The Role

  • Manage and build the CES+ OT Cybersecurity capability as well as building relationships with suppliers, partners, service providers and other Centrica Business Units.
  • Manage the strategy to align CES+ operated assets to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Owner of the OT Cybersecurity risk register. Collaborating with management and other stakeholders to determine risks and manage a program to remediate the business risk.
  • Management of the Risk Assessments for all operated assets, including the risk of third party/sub-contractor/vendor/supplier to maintain compliance with applicable policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Act a subject matter expert for OT cybersecurity, evaluating maintenance, engineering, and project requirements with a focus on compliance.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to the Technical Authorities and Head of IS Operations to broaden knowledge within the wider teams to ensure wider compliance.
  • Assessing and improving capabilities and identify weak points that might make systems vulnerable to cyber-attack and coordinate the remediation activities providing targeted solutions and meeting the corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage an Incident Response Plan
  • Maintain knowledge of OT technologies and functionality.

The Person

  • Experience working within OT System environments. (Secure Architecture, Development, Maintenance)
  • Expertise on Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control System (ICS) cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of safety and risk management standards HSE OG86 / IEC 61511 and IEC 62443
  • Hands on experience of Cybersecurity or related discipline.
  • Degree or professional certification in electrical/electronic/automation engineering or equivalent through experience
  • Willingness to acquire in-depth knowledge of network and host security technologies and products (such as firewalls, Network IDS and, scanners) and to continuously improve these skills.
  • Be a self-starter that can multi-task and work within a team.
  • Willingness to train and mentor other team members.
