The Opportunity
The Outage Planner is a member of the Outage Management Team and will report to the Outage Management Group Head.
We are seeking to recruit a well-motivated and enthusiastic person who will support the preparation of Statutory Outages as well as identify areas for improvement in the Outage processes and organisation.
The Outage Planner holds a key role within the Outage Department in ensuring that Outage plans effectively support Site Licence Conditions, Statutory Regulations, Equipment Reliability, Operational Focus and work delivery to support 1000 days generation and the delivery of outage to business plan or better.

The salary range associated with this role is between £40,069
- £60,826 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What you’ll be doing
- To act as a nuclear professional at all times and have a nuclear safety focus in all activities and responsibilities undertaken.
- Work closely with other Outage Management staff, Station Stakeholders and Business partners to ensure that Nuclear Safety, Compliance, Site Licence and Regulatory requirements are fulfilled.
- Ensure that outage plans fulfil Statutory and Site Licence Requirements.
- Ensure that risk, including Nuclear and Operational, is identified and effectively mitigated.
- Champion internal station processes to ensure delivery of preparatory key milestones (POMP).
- Produce and manage a resource matched outage island plan, using Primavera.
- Produces outage plans and reviews these with relevant stakeholders.
- Continuously challenging station Outage Management standards in order to drive improvement in Outage Management performance and optimisation of work scope.
- Provide appropriate support to ensure delivery of Outage Department and Station Business Plan objectives.
Who you are
Ideally the applicants will have thorough knowledge of nuclear power plant or have an industrial background with experience in the areas of maintenance and operations.
Enthusiasm, flexibility, drive, demonstrates a ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to facilitate change are essential.
Supported by excellent communication and interpersonal skills, candidates must be self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative.
Primavera experience is essential.
You will be well versed in the use of computer packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Project Management experience would also be beneficial but not essential.
As a minimum, entrants will have an engineering or scientific HNC (or equivalent); candidates with a relevant degree may have an advantage.

Applicants will be required to obtain CTC level vetting prior to taking up their duties.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
