About The Role
UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE
+ make a difference for every patient

Practice Plus Group’s new Birmingham Hospital, your destination for professional fulfilment.
A unique opportunity awaits as Practice Plus Group unfolds a new chapter in healthcare excellence with the opening of our Birmingham Hospital. This is more than a job opening – it’s a chance to be part of something transformative. Our commitment to innovation within our sector, coupled with a dedication to patient-centric care, makes Practice Plus Group a trailblazer in the healthcare landscape.
Imagine working in an environment where your ideas matter, your contributions are valued, and your professional journey is celebrated. At our new Birmingham Hospital, we believe in fostering an inclusive culture that empowers you to thrive. With brand new facilities, equipment and ethos plus a collaborative team spirit, your career at Practice Plus Group is destined for success. Join us as we redefine healthcare standards in Birmingham and beyond!
If you are a talented nurse with demonstrable leadership experience looking for a rewarding role, this could be the job you've been waiting for. You’ll find a friendly welcome and a home for your talents at Practice Plus Group. Whether you’re coming from an NHS or private hospital or another care setting, we’ll give you time to use your nursing skills – and help you build a fulfilling career.
We offer nurses clear career paths with lots of exciting options. Where you go is up to you!
You will be part of a close knit collaborative team who pride themselves in providing the highest standard of care to our patients and their families. Our Outpatients team is comprised of experienced nurses, practitioners and healthcare assistants supported by our Head of Nursing, Leanne.
Your sound clinical and infection control knowledge combined with your ability to solve problems and think both literally and laterally will enable you to coach and support others in your team. We encourage sharing of best practice across our site to develop your skills and take advantage of our excellent clinical leadership knowledge.
What you'll be doing
You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Outpatient Department, providing leadership to the team of nursing and ancillary staff, while giving necessary professional, clinical practice and motivational support for the team.  During times of absence you will also deputies for the Ward Manager, so having a close working relationship with them is key as well as an understanding of the ward.
As well as working with the Ward Manager, you will also work collaboratively with the Theatre manager to develop the service, establishing the department as a centre of excellence within the UK as a national model of excellence.
You will be required to have strong administration and management skills as the coordination and facilitation of activities on a shift by shift basis is essential to ensure a seamless service to patients and the position has a professional obligation for training and development within the sphere and scope of practice in the Outpatient Department. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that there are sufficient clinics provided to meet the volume of referrals
What we’ll look for in you
In turn we will support you to help you grow in your role and take your career in the direction you want to go. We’ll help you be the best you can be. When you’re part of the Practice Plus Group team, you don’t just have a job. You have a career.
Everything we do is focused on providing a high standard of safe and effective patient care. As a CQC Good rated hospital we believe in developing and nurturing our people.
We want our team members to feel motivated and rewarded. So we offer a competitive package of pay and benefits. We also recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance – so we always try to be flexible, helping you fit your working life around your home life.
We will contact all shortlisted candidates but please note Practice Plus Group retain the right to remove the advert prior to the closing date if a suitable candidate is appointed. Our employment offers are subject to receipt of satisfactory pre-employment checks. At Practice Plus Group, we actively promote diversity and equal opportunities. Applicants must have the right to work in the EU.
We are one of the UK largest independent sector healthcare providers and work in close partnership with the NHS to deliver more than 50 services throughout the UK. We provide high quality specialist care and excellent results for more than 50,000 patients each year.
