Shifts: Sunday - Thursday Nights Only 22:30 - 07:00
Hours per week: 42 Hours
Basis: 6 Months

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Shift Production Manager, as part of a small technical team, you will be required to assist the Fleet Operator to undertake / supervise mechanical & electrical maintenance, detailed fault finding and repair on Rolling Stock Units. Successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring that any maintenance undertaken at the depot is completed in accordance with the company's processes, procedures and comply with all safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Preventative, detailed fault finding, diagnostics and rectification.
* Write reports to feedback in the hierarchy (ISSTs, PSEs, Team Leaders etc.)
* Downloading and uploading of software via the use of laptops.
* Provide technical support to the dept teams in the provision of fault-finding expertise and assistance with train repair activities.
* Diagnose and repair electronic and electrical systems:
o 3 phase
o Single phase
o DC Power Systems and Control Systems
* Produce solutions that provide short term mitigation and long-term resolution.
* Monitoring of warranty issues and liaising with supplier technical teams
* Detailed recording of faults found and rectified.
* Review and rectify test specifications and documentation for functional tests, feeding back any problems with VMI's, Fleet Checks, Modifications or technical documents using the correct process.
* Assisting operator in updating of maintenance instructions, overhaul instruction, processes & procedures to optimize maintenance and liaise with Bombardier Technical Publications and Central Engineering teams where required.
Person profile:
* You will be a highly self-motivated individual, able to work under your own initiative
* You will possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills
* You will need extensive all-round knowledge of Electrical Engineering.
This could also include the following:
o High Level fault finding electrically
o High Level fault finding mechanically
o Responsible for accurate completion of all paperwork prior to supervisor validation.
o Undertake technical maintenance to the required standards.
o Reliability monitoring reporting
o Data analysing
o Remove and replace mechanical & electrical components
o Test Continuity
o Use of Laptop's and diagnostic tools to determine faults
Experience required:
* Experience within Rolling Stock - Aventra platform
* Ability to work from maintenance manuals and schematics
* Experience of Mechanical or Electrical fault finding
* Experience of Mechanical or Electrical repairs
* Troubleshooting and evidence gathering.
Qualifications:
* Completion of a recognised apprenticeship
* Minimum qualification required - NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline.
