My client, based in South London, are seeking an experienced conceptual designer to assist in the creation of new and exciting visual designs used within FMCG packaging. Within the role you’ll be responsible for delivering finished designs ready to be presented to the client when required.

Due to the nature of the role, this vacancy is best suited to someone who already has a strong understanding of the FMCG retail market, as you’ll be responsible for presenting ideas from the concept to creation of packaging used in commercial food and beverage supermarket environments. The turnaround time is quick so being able to think on your feet with a good idea of the concepts commonly used within the retail market is highly advantageous.
The Role

- Creating new, original, and exciting design concepts, delivering finished designs ready to be presented to the client.
- Taking complete ownership of all assigned design projects from initial briefing through to final presentation.
- Making sure deadlines are met within project budget.
- Run and present high-volume projects efficiently and within required timeframes, within a fast-paced environment
- Work with stock imagery to create photo-realistic serving suggestion compositions.
- Responsible in assisting to drive up the standards of design within the department.
- Conceptual and a strategic thinker demonstrating creative design craft.
- Check and proofread designs to ensure a consistent, high level of precision and accuracy.
- Work with style guides and brand guidelines to ensure brand compliance.
- Liaise directly with internal stakeholders to ensure full understanding of the client’s brief.
- Attend design and project briefings.

 
The Candidate

- Highly experienced with a portfolio to showcase their understanding of commercial food packaging design
- Strong attention to detail
- Can think on their feet, to quickly envision client concepts and bring them to life
- Motivated, enthusiastic & passionate about creative, effective design work
- Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign / Illustrator / Photoshop)
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Able to work under pressure at pace to tight deadlines
- Comfortable working on a shifting workload with differing priorities
- Happy to work in the office on a full-time basis

 
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is based on experience up to a maximum of £45,000
Plus, a generous holiday allowance (25 days plus Bank Holidays), company pension scheme, opt in medical scheme, sickness scheme (after probationary period).
