We have an exciting opportunity for a Packaging Lead to join our Clothing & Home Team. You will be responsible to

deliver customer centric, market leading innovative and agile global packaging supply base. Delivering packaging that protects product and differentiate M&S from the High Street. Leading the Global Packaging team to meet Global and Regional goals for packaging and to oversee Critical Path adherence.

Work cross BU, logistics and dot.com as part of the leadership teams, to develop and deliver a globalised packaging strategy and to translate this into a globalised BU level plan, ensuring that international and channel specific strategies are appropriately accommodated

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include

• Balance and effectively manage the global packaging requirements against the C&H product and sourcing strategies putting the customer at the centre, whilst aligning to the commercial strategy for the BU / business area
• Set and maintain the packaging technical standards across the business area putting customer requirements at the centre of policy, and ensuring that these standards are frequently and clearly communicated to all stakeholders involved in the design, product development and production processes (Buying Departments, Suppliers, Sourcing Offices)
• Lead the Packaging team to provide technical product expertise to the packaging development process ensuring delivery of packaging to the critical path
• Monitor and manage Packaging KPI’s e.g. Outsourced artwork team, ESG Targets, waste reporting and rebates
• Work with sourcing offices regional packaging managers maintain up to date knowledge of packaging suppliers' technical capability, regularly sharing applying knowledge and expertise of raw material, construction, and technical innovation to develop products that better meet the needs of the customer.

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

• Expert in the field of Packaging, supply chain and end to end delivery of packaged product including manufacturing, transit, construction and/or print/ packaging materials
• Analytical skills, championing and leveraging extensive Business wide network to shape future packaging strategy across Clothing and Home.
• Multi tasked orientated working to tight deadlines while maintaining entrepreneurialism.
• Ability to lead, coach and manage people to support development and drive success.
• Ability to balance Global packaging standards with the commercial needs of the business
