Job Description
The role of Packaging Operative is suitable for an individual who wants to build their packaging and manufacturing experience in a craft beer production environment, focusing on canning and kegging activity. This role may also be ideal for someone who has an interest pursuing a career in the Brewing industry as it enables you to get close to the action, whilst learning in a practical role. The ideal candidate thrives in working in a team-based and hands-on role, and is able to meaningfully navigate and contribute to standards and improvements in safety, quality, and process excellence. This is a permanent full-time position (weekdays) based onsite at our Fourpure Brewery in Bermondsey, London.
Responsibilities include:
- Packaging beer into cans and kegs
- Operation, quality control, and maintenance of packaging activities and equipment
- Assisting in brewing, cellaring, and cleaning procedures as required
- Engaging in our safety culture and handling all chemicals safely
- Participating in duty rotation as needed to accommodate production demands
- Performing packaging equipment maintenance checks
- Operating in line with HACCP guidelines
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:
- Experience in a fast growing, quality-focussed brewing, drinks, or food manufacturing environment
- Understanding of quality and food safety procedures, and ability to ensure product is in specification prior to packaging
- Regular manual work, and a practical team player
- Comfortable to safely lift and move objects up to 25kg
- Preparation and clean down of packaging equipment
- Forklift license preferred
- A positive and committed attitude
- Willingness to assist with ad hoc production tasks as required
- A passion for beer/premium brands and a clear understanding of what makes these brands successful is desirable
