Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-motivated PACS Lead to develop and administer Radiology IT systems at our Southport & Ormskirk sites. The role will primarily focus on managing the day to day PACS and RIS activity to provide a single point of access for all imaging and results. There will be a requirement to assist with operational management of the Radiology Department across both sites.
Successful candidates must have recent experience or knowledge of PACS and RIS administration in addition to clinical experience in radiology. The postholder will manage the PACS Team with the aim of providing a high quality service to all clinicians using best practice at all times.
The Department of Radiology PACS team currently provides support for Philips Vue PACS, Magentus CRIS, GE ECHOPAC, Careflow Ordercomms and 4Ways Teleradiology in addition to the ongoing paperless project. The successful candidate will also work closely with Informatics to produce dashboards to aid in the management and reporting of Radiology informatics.
The candidate will also work with the Clinical Systems Manager to support clinical systems across both sites and with IT to expand PACS across non DICOM Departments.
The Trust is part of the Cheshire & Merseyside Radiology Imaging Network [CAMRIN] a consortium of NHS Trusts whose Philips Vue PACS systems are connected via a Global Worklist. This is currently being upgraded to a new Philips Cloud PACS solution which will enable increased collaborative working between partner organisations.
Responsible for the management, co-ordination and clinical leadership of all aspects of Information Technology (IT) within Radiology.
Responsible for the management and support of all PACS(Picture Archiving Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System) services.
Act as a clinical lead for PACS and RIS and initiate clinical service developments to improve patient outcomes.
To act as a member of the Radiology Management Team.
Undertake the role of a Radiation Protection Supervisor.
