We are delighted to be recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner to work for a highly reputable walk-in centre on the outskirts of Kensington. The service is ideally situated within easy reach of Kensington, Central London and Wembley and within easy reach of public transport links. This is a great opportunity for a motivated Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner to work in a varied role caring for children and providing short term care. The role is fast paced, no two days are the same, and will be working as part of a friendly and supportive team. The team are passionate about the care that they provide, and they are looking for a like-minded Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join them on a permanent basis.
About the role:
You will be working as a Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner and will be responsible for:
- Carry out thorough assessments of physical and psycho-social needs of children
- Assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice within the Walk-In service.
- To lead, motivate and support team members in the facilitation of professional and clinical development
- Provide patients, carers & families with an evidence-based diagnosis and an
- appropriate treatment plan
- Undertake minor injury procedures, including wound closure with tissue adhesive or steri-strips
- Assessment of post-operative wounds and application of appropriate dressings
All applicants for the role of Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner must have the following;
- Registered Paediatric Nurse with current NMC registration with no restrictions
- MSc in Advanced Assessment or equivalent
- Full eligibility to live/ work in the UK
- At least 2 years UK experience working autonomously in an emergency or other unscheduled care setting
- Competent in physical examination of patients from 0-16 years
- Independent Prescriber (or on pathway to complete) highly desirable
- Qualification in teaching or practice based learning
- Previous leadership skills highly desirable
