Paediatric Senior Sister/Practice Educator This is a 50/50 job role, with 50% of the time acting as a clinical Band 7 Team leader within the PED acting as shift lead, line manager and Nursing at a Band 7 level and 50% Practice Development Nurse to support staff and help the department grow and flourish from an educational stand point. This is a newly created role within the PED to help the already established PDN team within paediatrics at Croydon The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient operational and professional Management of the department/ward; including budget control,
governance, workforce and overseeing the delivery of care in line with our values As a key member of a multi professional team, ensure appropriate referral, discussions and decisions with other members of the team to optimise patient care and improve patient outcomes and experience Ensure patients are assessed, have care plans that are implemented and evaluated in accordance with Trust’s evidence based procedural documents. Deliver the Fundamentals of care Act as a clinical expert within sphere of work. Have continuous responsibility for the ward area, providing visible professional leadership and line management for a team of nursing, care and support staff. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Sister/Practice Educator to join our friendly team in Croydon to work in our Paediatric Emergency Department. The newly purpose built Paediatric Emergency Department at Croydon sees over 30,000 children a year, we have a mix of staff from band 2 HCA, Band 4 NA's and Band 5-7 Nurses working in the unit who will need the support and development of a PDN to develop their clinical and none clinical skills. To show an adaptable and positive approach to implementing change in conjunction with evidence based practice and national guidelines. We will provide you with; On-going support and development to enable you to achieve your full potential. This is provided through appraisal, access to study days and courses identified in individual personal development plans.
