GPW are recruiting for a Paint Sprayer to start ASAP in the Chester/ Deeside area on a 3 – 6 month contract initially whoch could be extended.
The ideal candidate will be involved in all aspects of the paint process from preparing / stripping parts, ordering materials, managing consumable usage, to basic paint shop equipment maintenance and applying coatings to aerospace components with precision and adherence to quality standards. This role requires expertise in preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and ensuring a flawless finish.
It will be working 37 hours a week Monday – Friday but must have flexibility to wirk days/ night shifts. Shift hours may be necessary.
Responsibilities:
* Confirm all prior assembly and test operations have been completed.
* Prepare surfaces of aerospace components for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and masking.
* Select and mix paint and coatings according to business procedures and process specifications and requirements.
* Operate paint spraying equipment with precision and attention to detail.
* Ensure proper adhesion and coverage of coatings on aerospace parts.
* Monitor and adjust spray equipment settings for optimal results.
* Follow safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous materials.
* Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure finished products meet industry standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the paint booth and surrounding work areas.
* Keep accurate records of paint usage, work hours, and materials.
* Maintain calibration of all paint shop equipment
* Identify process improvements.
* Completion of any work-related tasks, which would be deemed reasonable of this role.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Paint Sprayer.
* Proficiency in using various paint spraying equipment and techniques.
* Knowledge of aerospace coatings, surface preparation, and industry standards.
* Attention to detail and ability to achieve high-quality finishes.
* Understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to paint spraying.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment.
* Able to read Engineering drawings / Specifications.
* Apprentice trained / NVQ level 3 qualification desirable.
* Computer literate
* Relevant certification in paint spraying or related field.
