About the role?
Working under the supervision and co-ordination of the Workshop Shift Manager and SMART Line Team Leader, the main task is to carry out any necessary bodywork damage repairs to ensure vehicles are in pristine condition prior to dispatch and that all vehicles comply with company standards and health and safety regulations as required
Key responsibilities of the Role:
- To effectively remove any damaged panels / areas of the vehicle in need of repair.
- To remove any dents in panels.
- Repairing minor scratches, or making replacement panels.
- Mending rusted parts of vehicle bodywork.
- Welding new or repaired panels in to place.
- Finishing the repair to ensure it matches the rest of the bodywork, or preparing the surface for a Paint Refinisher.
- To ensure materials are used within the manufacturer’s instruction and minimal usage for effective repair.
- To maintain the upkeep of all Workshop tools and equipment.
- To ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
- Undertake other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.
2x shift rotation pattern: 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday.
About you?
- You must hold a Valid Driving Licence with less than 6 penalty points and no DR offences for an insurance purpose
- Must be competent in competent in Panel Beating with at least two years’ experience
- Must have proven welding techniques.
- Must have experience with both repairing and replacing panels.
- Fully conversant with Health & Safety, relating to the Panel Beater role and equipment used.
- You must have the ability to work as part of a team, able to use own initiative, be self-motivated and to be able to work unsupervised.
