Paralegal - Litigation

Salary Circa £28,000 - £30,000 depending on skills and experience

Full time/37 hrs a week/Fixed-term (present until September 2025)

Location: Hybrid Working / Huntingdon

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our highly valued inhouse legal team as a Litigation Paralegal. What you'll be doing:

As a Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for the recovery of water, sewerage and miscellaneous debt by managing cases through legal proceedings to their resolution. You will assess the credibility of evidence, prioritise claims and identifying those to progress through to judgment.

This role also provides valuable support to the litigation team with the following responsibilities; investigating and responding to defendant's queries, arranging property visits, negotiating settlements and advising the business of case status. You will also prepare county court documents and attend hearings, while maintaining accurate records of claim progression and outcome.

What does it take to be successful?

• Experience in a legal environment, familiarity of country court proceedings and use of the Civil Procedure Rules
• We are open to candidates of differing levels of experience and will consider an individual with time-served experience as a Paralegal in litigation team and and/or LPC qualification
• Knowledge and experience of high volume debt recovery work
• We welcome applications from candidates in either private practice or from industry who can demonstrate relevant dispute resolution experience
• Be able to work autonomously, not be afraid to have difficult conversations with customers/defendants and confident in advocacy
• Strong team player with the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of business colleagues
• IT literate and confident in using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
• Full Driving Licence and access to vehicle
