Parking Investigation Officer

Position Overview: The role involves investigating and appropriately responding to Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) representations and managing Debt registration. The primary responsibility is to contribute to a highly professional team that executes the Parking Penalty Enforcement Process (PCN cycle). This includes making consistent and accurate decisions aligned with the council's policies and considering customer circumstances, including any provided mitigation. Efficient case load management is crucial to meeting required outputs for effective workflow.

Key External Contacts: Interact with staff at all levels within the local authority, members of the public, enforcement agencies,Traffic Enforcement Centre, Environment & Traffic Adjudicators, police, and other external contacts.

Key Internal Contacts: Collaborate with stakeholders at various levels, equipment engineers, Parking Implementation, Travel Services, Council Tax and Electoral Register section, Access Croydon, Contact Centre, Highways, and other council departments.

Financial Dimensions: Accurately adjust the back-office system following correct procedures.

Key Areas for Decision Making: Prioritize workload, manage case loads effectively, handle PCN representations, adjudication appeals, and witness statements, oversee enforcement agency recovery, collaborate in working relationships, and implement parking services policy.

Other Considerations: Attend, represent, and support the council at Environment & Traffic Adjudicators as needed.

This is a versatile role, and incumbents may be expected to transfer between equivalent positions as required.
