Join our team at Healthy Pet Store where we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our customers and colleagues. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join us as an In-House Cleaner.
As our Part Time Cleaner, you will play a crucial role in upholding our standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our premises. You will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the store, washrooms, canteen and communal areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere for both customers and colleagues.
A part-time position is available at this store for 10 hours per week. Ideally, the successful candidate will be free to work 2-hour early morning or late evening shifts 6 am-8 am or 7 pm-9 pm over 5 days of the week. One of the days must be on a Sunday evening or Monday morning to take account of the weekend’s traffic.
Specific Job Role and Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting all areas of the store on a rolling checklist which must include a full clean of the retail floor at a minimum of three times a week
- Clean and sanitise restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors, to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Empty waste bins and ensure proper disposal of waste in accordance with company policies
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed, ensuring that adequate stock levels are maintained
- Follow safety procedures and protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to maintain a cohesive and organised approach to cleaning tasks
Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is preferred but not require.
- Previous experience with using a Numatic scrubber/dryer preferred but not essential as full training will be given
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining extremely high standards of cleanliness
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally team members.
- Flexibility to work during early mornings and/or evenings as needed.
