Your new company
A prestigious London Local Authority is looking to recruit a part-time, 2 day per week Digital Skills ICT Tutor.
Your new role
To work as part of the strategic planning and teaching team for Adult Skills and Education Service with this local authority; with a clear focus on identifying priority groups and areas within the City and ensuring that the needs of such groups or areas are fed back into the curriculum planning process.
To develop, monitor and deliver/teach a range of Digital Skills IT related topics.
The coordination of ACL/AEB Digital Skills/ICT exams.
Ensure that the Online Learning functions, using Google Classroom Educational, Moodle, TEAMs, Zoom etc, is fully operational to support all aspects of remote/Online and face to face classroom-based teaching and learning. Focus on ensuring e- Safety and high-quality teaching and learning. Have knowledge of Cybersecurity and the prospects of AI in education.
  • Teach and assess accredited levels 2- 4 Digital /ICT Skills to learners.
  • To deliver some first Step into IT/Digital Skills course to local people.
  • To devise a programme of learning (scheme of work) with appropriate effective teaching and learning strategies, resources and assessments.
  • To have a creative approach to engaging with learners.
  • Establish precise learning objectives, content and clear learning outcomes for all teaching undertaken.
  • Support learners to access appropriate learning programmes using various diagnostic tools and assessment methods.
  • To build relationships with learners and, through support and advice, help them address any barriers to learning.
  • Develop, deliver and assess programme units for a range of programmes.
  • Develop appropriate learning styles and delivery methods that meet the learner's needs.
  • To keep learners' records, including initial assessment and Learning Agreement records.
  • To ensure that quality assurance processes are implemented and robustly complied with.
  • Work with learners on a one-to-one or group basis as appropriate.
  • To maintain attendance registers and records of progress and ensure learners are correctly enroled and awarding bodies.
  • Engage in data analysis and target setting to raise standards of retention and achievement.
  • Maintain relevant IT and administrative systems and produce accurate and timely management information.
  • To ensure awareness and adherence to health and safety, safeguarding and GDPR legislation and company procedures.
  • To take accountability for deadlines and targets set by the line manager and ensure that they are met as an asset.
  • To work with all Managers, Tutors, Adult Skills and Education and Apprenticeships ensuring that examination/achievement targets, priorities and actions are agreed within accepted timescales.
  • To organise Online/Face to Face information short /course/taster sessions for potential learners on a variety of community sites within the City.

You will need to be an experienced tutor or have similar proven work experience.
