Base Location: Flexible | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots in Scotland - Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness.
Salary: up to £55,000 pro rata , depending on experience and role + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Due to our continued growth within SSEN Transmission, and the announcement of a further 400 roles within SSEN Transmission in 2024 we have several opportunities for part-time discipline engineers to help deliver our ambitious growth plans for the future, particularly the "Pathway to 2030" (https://lnkd.in/eSCXGW_h) and our NetZero 2050 plans. Ideally, we are looking for a minimum of 21 hours a week with flexible working patterns from 3- 5 days. There are various specialisms required which include:
- Civil Engineering
- Overhead Lines
- Substations
- Cables
What do I need?
To be considered for the positions within the various engineering disciplines we are looking for:
- Previous responsibility for the associated Engineering discipline delivery on assigned projects of typical capital value £200M - £1B.
- Provide technical input for your specialist discipline as well as interfacing with other technical and project functions to ensure a co-ordinated approach to project delivery and identification and resolution of key risks.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of Energy or Networks industries are preferable.
- Good technical knowledge of industry standards, technical specifications, and how to determine applicability of relevant standards.
- Degree in appropriate engineering discipline (preferably CEng or working towards this).
