Central Liverpool
£32,000 - £46,525 per annum/Pro Rata (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and Role
We are working with a fantastic nursery school who are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated SENDCo on a part-time basis from September. The role is requirements are 2 days minimum per week (Monday and Tuesday), with desirable flexibility to support additional days to suit the demands of the setting.  This is predominantly office-based role with support/cover in rooms when needed.

The successful candidate, working alongside the Leadership Team, will be required to:

  • Lead the implementation of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) policy, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Identify and assess the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities, providing appropriate support.
  • Develop, review, and manage Education Plans (EHCP’s) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on best practices and strategies for supporting SEND children.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation for SEND provisions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Desirable - NASENCO award or a commitment to working towards obtaining it.
  • Demonstrated experience as a classroom teacher with a comprehensive understanding of the UK curriculum.
  • Experience in a SENDCO role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead SEND initiatives.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Forge positive, productive relationships with parents and carers and external providers
  • Have, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
