‘Flourishing from Firm Foundations’

We are a vibrant Church of England school in Collyhurst at the heart of the exciting major development Victoria North. We are extremely proud of Collyhurst’s heritage within Manchester and have a strong sense of community amongst staff and pupils; a broad balanced all-inclusive curriculum allows children to flourish and celebrate their uniqueness through our Christian Values.

The school has an extensive sports programme and a commitment to the arts, with visiting local artists and a musician in residence. With a Book Trust ‘Life Changing Library’ and a passion for reading for pleasure, the school has books at the heart of its curriculum.

The school governors wish to appoint a part-time SENDCo who will also be responsible for Looked After Children, leading inclusion across the school. Part of the role will be to lead and develop our newly opened Nursery. We would like a candidate that understands the context of the school and who will work in partnership with staff and parents to ensure the very best for our children.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing and extending the potential in our children through recognising individual qualities and strengths, while understanding the challenges in today’s current climate of education.

You will have the opportunity to make a positive difference in children’s progression on their learning journey as they start school and be part of a strong and supportive team of governors, teachers and support staff.

What the school requires:

  • The ability to form positive relationships with parents and families to support and engage learning of pupils.
  • Be committed to a whole school community
  • Ensuring access to the curriculum and achievement for all.
  • To demonstrate our Christian values and Golden Goals; being a role model to all.
  • A willingness to learn, develop and grow
  • The ability to work well with others, collaborating and sharing ideas
  • A secure understanding of the SEND code of practice.
  • Be able to prepare statutory documents and work with other agencies.
  • A commitment to ensuring the safeguarding of all children as a deputy designated safeguarding leader.
  • A willingness to lead on Mental Health and Well-being
  • Support early identification by working within the EYFS team.
  • Be responsible in ensuring children receive the best start in the Nursery provision.
What the school offers:
  • A welcoming and friendly school where pupils feel safe.
  • Opportunities to develop areas of interest in the curriculum
  • Professional development in key areas of the school development plan.
  • Learning beyond the curriculum and classroom
  • Working alongside specialist subject teachers
  • Dedicated time to support professional development and work life balance
  • Commitment to health and well-being including flexible working
  • A supportive leadership team, staff and Governing body
