Part Time Skills Hub Facilitator

Fixed Term, Part Time

Up to £25,025 per annum, pro rata

Location: Colchester

This opportunity is being offer on a Part Time basis, working on a Wednesday and Thursday from 9am till 4:30pm and is being offered as a Fixed Term Contract till until 31st January 2026.

The Opportunity

Adult Community Learning (ACL) is ECC's provider of lifelong learning experiences for Essex residents.

ACL offers qualifications to help people move nearer to, enter, or progress within the workplace or gain skills to enhance life chances. The service focuses many of its programmes and activities on the hardest to reach communities within Essex. ACL learners have access to a diverse range of accredited and non-accredited courses which encourage creativity, healthy lifestyles, social inclusion and engagement.

The Skills Hub Facilitator will be responsible for supporting Skills Hub users to access online learning platforms. They will organise the day-to-day running of the Skills Hub, provide high quality support, information and guidance to all users from the first enquiry to course completion. The role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to accurately record data and key information as required.

Accountabilities:

  • To manage initial assessment, enrolment and end point assessment processes.
  • To be the first line of contact for all learners requesting assistance or support with their studies.
  • To monitor progress of learners, in conjunction with tutors, against agreed criteria to develop improvement plans where appropriate.
  • To ensure learners have every possible support required to complete courses as smoothly and as successfully as possible.
  • To liaise with other relevant departments to ensure resolution of queries.
  • To be proactive and have a positive approach to problem solving and improving the customer journey.
  • To manage customer issues efficiently, resolving them to a conclusion where necessary.
  • To complete adhoc administration work as required.
  • To provide first class customer service regarding all general enquiries.
  • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

The Experience You Will Bring

Essentials:

  • Educated to GCSE level (Grade C/4 GCSE in English and Maths) or equivalent by experience.
  • Effective communicator who presents well at all levels. Friendly, outgoing, and helpful disposition with ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • A broad understanding of computer systems, applications, and operating systems.

Desirables:

  • IAG qualification at L2 (be working towards or willing to undertake)
  • L3 Award in Education and Training (desirable but not essential)
