To play a key part in ensuring children have the opportunity to learn to swim and are safe in the water.
Prepare, plan and review all lessons to ensure consistency and quality standards are maintained. Lessons will be planned in line with enjoyleisure’s swimming Lessons Scheme of Work
Prepare and set up equipment used to support swimming lessons.
Assess individual needs, and offer reasonable support ensuring an inclusive approach.
Regularly assess individuals against the Learn to Swim framework and update this on our Learn2 system manually or through tablets.
Appropriately respond to any parent/guardian issues which may arise.
Inform Swimming Development Officers of children who are ready to progress to the next level and of any other matters that may arise.
Attend at least three staff training sessions per year in order to maintain NRASTC knowledge.
Attend regular CPD training in order to maintain swimming teacher skills and competencies.
Ensure a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times.
Ensure a safe and fun environment for all children. Undertake rescues and administer remedial treatment as required.
Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (SSTQ) or equivalent.
NPLQ or NRASTC Certificate.
Experience of providing a high level of customer service.
Ability to build effective working relationships and be part of a successful team.
Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to communicate in a positive and effective way.
Positive and can do attitude.
Desire to help others develop.
Ability to execute a high level of professionalism.
Ability to problem solve and make informed decisions.
Ability to develop a positive rapport with pupils.
Early Year Qualification.
Additional support needs (ASN) Qualification.
Swim Coaching level 1 Qualification.
Experience of Swim Teaching or coaching.
Experience of coaching children or adults.
