About Us

  • Are you looking to make a difference in 2024?
  • Are you ambitious to support innovation and change for two high-performing Councils, serving 500,000 residents across South-West London?
  • Do you enjoy seeking out and developing new ways of working?
  • Do you want to join a growing team, in the Chief Executive’s group at the heart of the organisation, working at pace and with colleagues from across every service area?
  • Do you want the opportunity to work closely with lead members, helping them to turn their priorities into high-profile, innovative projects which make a difference for our residents?

Richmond and Wandsworth Councils are recruiting to a new role to support strategic partnerships and engagement across Richmond and Wandsworth boroughs.  This post is:

Partnership Development and Events Officer (Richmond and Wandsworth)

This post will be supporting the wider work of the Communities & Partnerships team in building stronger partnerships in each borough, and running public facing events with local communities and stakeholders in each borough.

This exciting new post will provide support to the Strategic Partnership Manager and wider team on implementing the councils’ corporate approach to developing stronger and effective partnerships with the community and voluntary sector in both Richmond and Wandsworth.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the Strategic Partnership Manager in development and implementation of the Council’s voluntary sector and wider stakeholder partnership planning arrangements at both operational and strategic levels within each borough
  • Co-ordinate a range of public facing partnership and public facing events in each borough
  • Support the delivery of strategic partnership initiatives and projects, including planning and the associated communications and engagement activity.
  • Provide project management support and occasionally lead new initiatives and service development.

You will need to bring a good working knowledge of the voluntary and community sector and the importance of partnerships and collaboration.  You will have a sound project management approach in your work, be able to use your initiative and translate ideas into tangible actions.  You will enjoy meeting with partners and the wider community and enabling this through organising events, forums and other communication channels.

You will also be a confident communicator who can liaise with multiple stakeholders.

You will need to be flexible in how you work, have good analytical skills and be a strong report writer.

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance. These include compressed hours, flexible hybrid working (dependent on service need) and annualised hours and a generous holiday allowance of 40 days including bank holidays.

In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities is also offered.
