Pastoral Assistant

Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Assistant to join our team starting in September. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the well-being and personal development of our students. A specialism in one or more subjects is a significant advantage, as it allows for a more integrated approach to student support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pastoral care and support to students, addressing their individual needs.
• Work closely with teachers and other staff to identify students requiring additional support.
• Assist in the development and implementation of student support plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and well-being within the school.
• Facilitate communication between students, parents, and staff to ensure cohesive support.
• Organise and participate in pastoral care activities and programs.
• Support the safeguarding and child protection policies of the school.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in a pastoral role within an educational setting is preferred.
• A specialism in a particular subject (e.g., English, Math, Science) is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) is mandatory.
• Relevant qualifications in education or pastoral care are advantageous.
