Job Title:         Pastoral Co-ordinator

Location:         Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucester

Salary:             £27,500 per annum

Hours:             40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 

Contract:         Permanent, Term Time Only

Must be UK based.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Pastoral Co-ordinator to use their knowledge and experience to protect pupils with varied and complex needs.

About the role 

To support the Leadership Team to establish effective strategies in all areas of pastoral care. To develop and implement long-term behaviour plans that will guide staff to support students to overcome barriers to learning and maximise the opportunities provided for them.

Working under the direction of the Headteacher to provide support to all students in enabling them to achieve their potential both academically and socially. The successful candidate will also contribute towards the school’s commitment to reduce exclusions.

Essential:

• Experience of work within an education setting
• Pastoral management experience in a care setting or the special educational needs sector
• Experience of driving and advising on best practice in relation to positive behaviour support
• Full UK Driving licence

About the school

Brookthorpe Hall School is a specialist provision providing full-time specialised co-education for young people aged 7 to 16 with a range of complex needs, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviour. This may include social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.
